What with all the upwardly mobile population growth, Jefferson County could use more restaurants like Taylor’s, which can go fork-to-fork with St. Louis’ hoity-toity eateries. American regional cuisine is souped up with classic European influences on a seasonal menu that might include a wild-mushroom strudel for starters, followed by a beefy New York strip “crusted” with morels. Then again, a bourbon-mango barbecued salmon fillet with a fresh mango salsa tastes good at any time of year. The prettily renovated Victorian setting is another high-end plus.
