A south-city mainstay since 1979, the Original Crusoe's Restaurant serves classic pub grub along with more upscale options. Diners can start their meal with appetizers such as spinach-artichoke dip, breaded wings and mini rye pizzas. Entrées include chicken and beef choices, such as "mud steak," a ten-ounce steak served in a pepper-garlic, white-wine, lemon-butter sauce with mushrooms, and Provel on top. Crusoe's also serves breakfast on Sundays, with traditional favorites, including a slinger, omelets, pancakes, and steak and eggs. Those up for the challenge can order the BAB burger -- that would be "Big Ass Burger" -- 40 ounces of beef and fries on the side. Crusoe's also has banquet facilities and offers catering.
