Tip Top Food & Spirits

2501 S. 9th St.
St. Louis, MO 63104
314-771-3200
Website
A hole-in-the-wall in Soulard, Tip Top offers standard bar-and-grill fare - burgers, steaks and sandwiches - as well as a few Serbian dishes courtesy of owner Djorde "George" Korac. Cevapcici are meaty Serbian sausages, served here over grilled pita rounds with red pepper, tomato, onion and feta cheese. The same sides accompany the shish kebab, basted with a smoky, mildly sweet sauce. Among the conventional dishes, the fried chicken is a standout, the breading thin, crisp and peppery. The patios (one covered, the other open) are a pleasant place to spend a summer evening.
