Chris Kramer has reinvented Two Nice Guys, his father's casual St. Louis Italian joint, as an upscale but utterly unpretentious Italian restaurant. Kramer and his staff make classic pasta, seafood and meat dishes with a level of skill and professionalism so old-fashioned it feels downright avant-garde. The menu is seasonal; recent standouts include lobster ravioli in an indulgent sauce of cream, fresh vanilla and Pernod; honey-brined chicken served over pumpkin orzo; and osso buco with an authentic gremolata garnish spiked with fresh mint. Be sure to save room for the divine desserts.
