Tigers fans across America will be tuning into CBS this afternoon to watch Mizzou take on Clemson in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. That's because both teams have Tigers for mascots.

If you're a Mizzou fan, word on the World Wide Web is that the local alumni association is gathering at The Corner Pub and Grill in Kirkwood to watch today's game. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.

If you're a Clemson fan, well, be prepared to spend a lonely afternoon in St. Louis because there probably aren't many like you.

Quick preview of the match-up after the jump...
Five Mizzou advantages:
  • Clemson has lost three straight opening round games and their coach is winless in five previous trips to the NCAA tournament
  • Clemson is coming off a bad loss in the first round of the ACC tournament. They were dropped by 11th-seeded North Carolina State
  • MU leads the nation in forced turnovers per game with 19.7, for a total of 350 on the season
  • Mizzou's deep bench averages more than 32 points per game, second best in the country
  • Mike Anderson is 3-1 in the first round of the tourney and 6-4 overall.
Five Mizzou concerns:
  • Clemson's three-straight first round losses were by a combined total of nine points. They're no pushovers.
  • Mizzou is 1-4 since losing starting forward Justin Safford to a knee injury
  • MU is also coming off a stinker: an embarrassing loss to 12th-seeded Nebraska in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.
  • Clemson plays Mizzou's style of basketball -- they get up and down the floor and force 17 turnovers per game.
  • Missouri might not have anyone who can handle Clemson's Trevor Booker. He is a 6-foot-7, 240-pound senior and the only player in ACC history with at least 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 200 assists, 200 blocks and 100 steals.
