Man Robs Armored-Car Driver in South St. Louis

St. Louis police are looking for a suspect who robbed an armed-car delivery driver yesterday inside Ace Cash Express (below) at 3655 South Grand -- just south of Chippewa.

The robbery occurred around 12:06 p.m. when Loomis Armored was making a delivery to the store. According to police, the suspect came out of a nearby apartment building, followed the security guard inside, pointed a gun and demanded the money.

After the getting the bag of money, the suspect ran north on Grand then west on Tholozan.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s or 40s, approximately 5'10" with a stocky build and dark brown complexion. He was wearing a dark blue puffy coat with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath. No witnesses described seeing a suspect vehicle at any point. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
