Almost exactly one year ago, Showtime ordered a full twelve-episode season of Masters of Sex, a drama based on the lives and work of Washington University researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson in the '50s, '60s and '70s.

The network has just released the show's first teaser trailer, pun intended. It doesn't give away much about the plot line, but there are plenty of bare backs, dropping straps and a clear message: SEX.

Take a peek after the jump.

Here is how Showtime describes the show:

MASTERS OF SEX is a one-hour drama starring Emmy® and BAFTA Award nominee Michael Sheen and acclaimed actress Lizzy Caplan, who will portray the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance, and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a midwestern teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine and nearly a dozen appearances on Johnny Carson's couch.

Looks like a less depressing, cheekier version of Mad Men. Check it out:
