Police have arrested the young man who allegedly shot and killed seventeen-year-old Antoine Bryant, who was riding his scooter when he was hit with bullets. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office yesterday charged Tyrone Taylor, twenty, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the 68th homicide case in the city this year.
The charges, on view below, say that Taylor was standing in an alley by the 4700 block of Louisiana Avenue in the Dutchtown South neighborhood when he began shooting at Bryant riding by on his gas-powered scooter. The incident happened last Thursday just before 6 p.m.
A witness, police say, saw Taylor fire multiple times before running into a nearby residence.
Bryant, who was hit in the shoulder, reportedly continued to ride his scooter for a few blocks before collapsing.
He was taken to the hospital, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and soon after was pronounced dead.
Taylor, police say, lives on the 3600 block of Michigan Avenue in the Gravois Park Neighborhood -- just north of where the fatal shooting took place.
A judge yesterday ordered the suspect held without bond.
He has a pending case for charges of receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and property damage, prosecutors say.
Here's the full probable cause statement followed by the original police summary.
