  • Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple of the dB's Play Free Show at Euclid Records, Sunday, February 1

Gee, it's like a late Christmas all up here in A to Z HQ today. First the new Morrissey album leaks and now this email floats into my inbox: "Pop/Rock Legends Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey to Give Free Concert at Euclid Records As Part of 45 RPM Charity Series." Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey, two founding members of the much beloved 80s pop/rock band the dB's, will be making their first St. Louis appearance together since 1991 at 1 pm Sunday, Feb. 1. What better way to kick off Super Bowl

  • Outtakes: Chris Stamey of the dB's, on a New Album, Forthcoming Projects

In this week's paper, Roy Kasten interviews Chris Stamey of the dB's, who will be in town on Sunday playing a few shows with his partner-in-crime, Peter Holsapple. (Read Holsapple's blog. Really.) The first is a free show at 1 p.m. at Euclid Records, for the store's 45 RPM charity series. The second is a full-on rock show at Off Broadway that night at 8 p.m.. True rockers don't watch the Super Bowl, right? Roy's interview is here, but below please enjoy a few outtakes -- including information ab

  • Review: Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey of the dB's, Euclid Records, Sunday, February 1

Writer Mike Appelstein headed over to Euclid Records on Sunday afternoon to check out the performance by Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey. He had some nice things to say: The original dB's have reformed and played a few gigs here and there. I've yet to see them, but I was certainly ready to give the acoustic duo a second chance. It should be no surprise that they were fantastic.  They were clearly at ease with, trading jokes with and enjoying the Sunday afternoon crowd.  The

  • Video: Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple cover the Byrds' "Here Without You"

Hey, remember when I mentioned Peter Holsapple and Chris Stamey covered the Byrds' "Here Without You"? Here's video, courtesy of Roy. Hear that? That's the sound of me geeking out. Those harmonies make me want to cry. (Seriously.)
