    Two St. Louis police officers are lucky to be alive following a chase early Wednesday morning though the Tower Grove South Neighborhood.     Brion Kimble was sitting in a vehicle Saturday night in the 4100 block of St. Louis Avenue when he was struck by gunfire from a passing auto.     The St. Louis police have identified three men they believe are responsible for the robbery-turned-homicide last week at Maggie O'Brien's bar and restaurant downtown that left bartender Michael Dolan dead from gunshot wounds.  Police say one of the suspects from that night was Derrick Bell, a man who was dropped off at the hospital minutes after the botched robbery.     As of today (July 1) the year is half over. And according to numbers provided by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, homicides are down nearly 30 percent compared to 2008.  As of Monday (June 29), the police reported 60 murders in the city in 2009 compared with 85 by mid-year 2008. Hardin last week as Hardin left Club Peek-a-Boo in Brooklyn, Illinois. Hardin was shot just as he left the Metro East strip club in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 22. This past Tuesday (September 29) police arrested Dorian E. Boyd, 25, on charges of first-degree murder. Boyd is being held on a $1 million bond.

    Jerry Washington, 27, collapsed and died on a front porch in the 5200 block of Robin in north St. Louis early this morning. 5200 block of Robin​Police report that Washington (of the nearby 5400 block of Wren) died from a gunshot wound to the head around 4:18 a.m. Witnesses at the home on Robin say they heard gunshots and then a banging on their door.
