Human Chess Game at the Chess Club

Craig Miller and Ed Rhomberg piece together the oversized, 32 x 32-foot chess board on Maryland Avenue before the game begins. The game of "human chess" was hosted by the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis (CCSCSL) for the upcoming final rounds of the national Chess Championships held in St. Louis May 22-25.

The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis hosted this human chess game on Friday, May 20, 2010, in advance of the final rounds of the national Chess Championships, May 22-25, 2010. Middle school students from Innovative Concept Academy, along with St. Louis Blues player Cam Janssen and pro boxer Ryan Coyne were also in the game. Photos by Nick Schnelle.
