The Idiotarod Shopping Cart Race

Employees from the City Museum were also present and participating at the Idiotarod. "We got the concept from the movie Thunder Dome. The other day we were reading a lot of 'No Fear' posters at lunch and they're hilarious and dated, so we thought we'd go totally cheesy and 80's. So we got this," Daniel Heggarty, of St. Louis, said. The team is made up of welders from the City Museum. It took them two weeks to transform the shopping cart.

It's a like a dogsled race. But with shopping carts instead of dogsleds, and people instead of dogs. And alcohol and souped-up shopping carts. And it was held March 6, 2010 in downtown St. Louis. Photos by Kholood Eid.
