A Tradition Like No Other

The Gypsy Caravan may be St. Louis' most reliable tradition. Every year since 1973, the Saint Louis Symphony Volunteer Association has staged the Gypsy Caravan as a fundraiser for the symphony; how many other summer traditions (excepting baseball -- which missed 1994, by the way) can you think of? As always, the caravan returns this year with dozens of antique dealers from states near and far selling their finds to teeming crowds of bargain-hunters on the campus of University of Missouri-St. Louis (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; www.stlsymphony.org/gypsycaravan). So come out and find yourself a new credenza, or whatever it is you're looking for. The caravan is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and food & drink will be sold on site. Admission is $10, and there's an early bird option for $20 that gets you in at 7 a.m.
