Arty Party Over Here

The good people behind the South City Open Studio and Gallery (SCOSAG) are dedicated to providing artistic instruction and inspiration to the city’s youth, and they also know how to throw killer parties. Harvest for Art, a fundraiser for SCOSAG, takes place at 7 p.m. at the Lucas School House (1220 Allen Avenue; 314-621-6565) and features a silent auction of works by some of St. Louis’ finest artists, including printmakers Tom Huck and Lisa Bulawsky (whose work is pictured), and a pottery sale for those who wish to acquire art without sparking a bidding war. And if you want to flex your own creative muscles, a design-it-yourself T-shirt station provides a fun and funky outlet. Live music courtesy of folk-rocker Celia, a reunited Palookaville and Louisville’s Black Diamond Heavies further enhances the evening. General admission is $25, and VIP tickets are $40; the latter provides early admission (6 p.m.), two complimentary drinks and a free CD of the music performed that very evening. For more information please call 314-865-0060 or email scosag@gmail.com.
