Suck it up, McFarland: Blues-folk singer-songwriter Colleen McFarland has a celebrated song titled, "I Don't Wanna Be Good." While we can't attest to the goodliness of her personal life, McFarland's music is good extremely good. Her gentle voice has the timbre of Patty Griffin and the twang of Emmylou Harris, and when she employs her band, she can blow the blues like Bonnie Raitt. Be there for the release of her latest CD, Beautiful Lie, at Cicero's (6691 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-862-0009; www.ciceros-stl.com) at 9 p.m. Saturday, November 4. Tickets are $5, and Remedy opens.
