Opening a restaurant/nightclub in a space previously occupied by one of the Grove's best-loved gay bars (the now-defunct Novak's) is a huge task. But Siam decided the key to success was not trying to do the same thing. A menu of pan-Asian fusion dishes, like chorizo pot stickers and kimchi hot pots, make this a place to get a great meal as well as get your bump and grind on. It's most definitely that too, however, with DJs spinning most nights until 3 a.m. And when you roll out of bed haggard and headachy on a Sunday afternoon, just head on back to the patio for mimosas and bloody marys. It's not just a place to wrap up a weekend's partying, however. Sushi happy hours from Wednesday through Saturday make it the perfect place to load up on food at the night's start, too. Novak's may not be gone from our hearts just yet, but we sure do expect great things from its successor.
