On weekends you may have seen a hungry crowd of people lined up and waiting for a table outside of Southwest Diner. It gets a bit hectic. That's in stark contrast to weekdays, when Southwest Diner becomes a welcoming, relaxing and friendly place to take yourself out for a bite to eat. Sit down at the bar and amuse yourself looking at all the bright and colorful tchotkes before the waiter (or possibly co-owner Jonathan Jones) comes to greet you. No one will pass judgment when you finish an entire New Mexican breakfast burrito by yourself. Indulge in some sopapillas for dessert as you finish your coffee. Even when you're alone at Southwest Diner, you're not really: Multiple tables are almost always occupied by other people flying solo.
