The eagles show all!

Dec 31, 2008 at 4:00 am
Much like rock stars and actors, eagles have many adoring fans who just want to catch a glimpse of them. These admirers would never dream that they would have a chance to meet such majestic birds — but every Saturday through the end of this month (January 3 through 31), folks will be able to do just that! During these rare public-interaction sessions, known as Eagle Meet-and-Greets, those who gather at the Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (200 Piasa Street) will be able to hang out with the eagles and learn about their lives from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then, fans can drive up the Great River Road and see the birds in their natural habitat — it'll be like watching the avian version of MTV Cribs from the car! To learn more about the free meet-and-greets, call 800-258-6645 or visit www.visitalton.com.
Saturdays. Starts: Jan. 3. Continues through Jan. 31, 2009
