DJ Rap

9 p.m. Sunday, December 31. Dante's (3221 Olive Street).

While it's perplexing (and certainly sad) that most jet-setting superstar DJs are men, it's a comfort to know that DJ Rap is still representin' for the estrogen set. Although the versatile Brit's specialty is drum 'n' bass, her debut solo album, 1999's Learning Curve, is full of trancey, watery pop that fits snugly alongside the femmetronica of Sneaker Pimps, Olive, Björk and Garbage. DJ Rap's latest release, 2006's Up All Night, focuses more on her d-'n'-b roots, although "Feel It" features her crystalline, siren-like diva croon.
