Dogtown Awaits Your Pleasure

Mar 10, 2010 at 4:00 am
Hopefully, you got a full night’s sleep last night, because you know what today is: the annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Dogtown (www.stlhibernians.org). As is tradition, things get under way at noon at Tamm and Oakland, and the parade may end, but Dogtown parties all night. Many of the neighborhood’s finer bars and taverns are open for business, so bring cash and prepare to park outside the neighborhood. As the parade organizers note on their website, “Parking is always a problem.” But who cares? If the weather’s good, a nice walk will do you good. And if the weather’s bad, pshh, a pint of Guinness and a shot of whiskey warm all bones. Admission to the parade is free, and it’s one of the finer social events you’ll ever find on a Wednesday.
