Eat, Drink, Help Many

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. At many Oktoberfests, the mission is to celebrate the German communities that, like all immigrant groups, have made major contributions to the American cultural fabric. At other Oktoberfests, the express purpose is to drink König until the idea of donning lederhosen seems A-OK. Then there's Oktoberfest at Mad Art Gallery (2727 South Twelfth Street), which one-ups all of that by throwing a great party that benefits a phenomenal organization: the Saint Louis City Open Studio and Gallery (SCOSAG). Tonight from 7 until 11 p.m., join fellow revelers at St. Louis' favorite police-station-turned-art-venue. Your $25 ticket gains you access to the event, the open bar (beer and wine will be served) and a variety of delicious treats, including bratwurst and pretzels. All proceeds go to SCOSAG, which has provided St. Louis kids and adults with affordable, accessible art classes since 2002.
