Ms. Day's adoration for penguins can only be eclipsed by her puppy love. But as awesome as dogs are, they really are more come-as-you-are animals. Penguins, however, have panache. To see just how much, head to the Creve Coeur Community Center (300 North New Ballas Road) at 7 p.m. for a free screening of March of the Penguins
, hosted by the St. Louis Audubon Society. In this documentary about the emperor penguins of Antarctica, you'll get to see lots of these sharp-dressed birds and witness what they have to go through just for the continuation of their species. Afterward, you'll have a chance to ask questions of Rick Smith, a zookeeper at the Saint Louis Zoo's Penguin & Puffin Coast. To learn more, call the Audubon Society at 314-599-7390 or visit www.stlouisaudubon.org
. And note: Take a cue from the dogs and don't dress up for this event; leave the tuxes for the birds.
