Frank 'n' Judy, Together Again

Our LGBT brothers and sisters are depicted in film and television far more often (and more evenhandedly) than they did in decades past. But that doesn't mean they weren't there, or that they weren't going to the movies. Tonight at 8 p.m. at the Way Out Club (2525 South Jefferson Avenue; 314-664-7638), Super-8 Movie Madness celebrates the history of LGBT culture with a selection of Super-8 films about gays or starring gay icons. The headliners are (of course) The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the lesser-known Can't Stop the Music, which stars Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner and the Village People. Bette Midler and Judy Garland get their due as truncated versions of The Rose, and both Easter Parade and The Wizard of Oz are all on the schedule. Ed Wood's Glen or Glenda shows up, as does the '70s lesbian vampire flick Vampyres. It's a grab bag, but it's a fabulous grab bag. Admission is $3.
