With a featured artist named M. Ho and an art opening scheduled just prior to Christmas, gallery-goers might assume that there's a holiday theme to the new exhibit in the Front Room of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard), but it's just a case of year-end serendipity. Ho uses the New York Times in her work, and this exhibition includes two series of collages. In Strike (2003; a detail of which is pictured), headlines and text from the Times' "A Nation at War" section are obscured with meticulous attention to detail. Talk to Us (2008) focuses on advertisements from section A, where international news mingles with ads for diamonds and blue-blood merchandise, and Ho adds her own twist. The work will be on display from Wednesday, December 24, through Sunday, January 4. For additional information and holiday hours, call 314-535-4660 or visit www.contemporarystl.org.
