International Tap House-Chesterfield

"500 beers, 40 on tap, 20 countries, 1 location" is displayed proudly on the backs of the bartenders' shirts at the International Tap House. (Although technically iTap has two locations since the opening of a Soulard outpost in June, the original is here in Chesterfield, about five minutes from the Chesterfield Airport exit on highway 40.) With its big-and-shiny exterior, iTap doesn't look like a neighborhood bar, but inside it holds some of the most friendly, welcoming people you'll ever meet. iTap is so proud of its beers from around the world that it actually holds a passport member night; bring yours in Thursday for discounted drinks. And definitely try the Goose Island Bourbon County stout, which regulars swear by. At 13 percent alcohol by volume, it's "beer that tastes like a shot of whiskey." Since iTap doesn't serve any food, though, your best bet might be to make a pit stop down the street at Stephanina's for a pizza before getting too crazy.
