It’s Bopped to the Top

Attention, parents of preteen children: Resistance is futile. High School Musical cannot be stopped. Indeed, the Disney Channel TV/movie phenomenon about teens preparing for their big high school musical is poised to add another glorious chapter to its legend, with a long-awaited sequel coming next month. The Broadway Center of Arts' outdoor stage adaptation of the first movie features none of the cheerful kids from the original but plenty of cheerful local kids singing and dancing under the stars in the bucolic acreage of Bellevue Park (401 Bellevue Park Drive, Belleville, Illinois). Shows run at 7 p.m. this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the same schedule next week (July 20 through 29). Tickets are $8 to $10. Call 618-233-0431 or see www.broadwaycenterofarts.com for more information.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: July 20. Continues through July 29
