It's Not Trivial! 

Some kids are masters of slow food: lingering at the dinner table, idly pushing peas around their plates. If you're the parent of a child who turns an ordinary meal into a battle-of-wills dinnerthon, take heart — someday, your kid could embrace the real Slow Food movement. Founded in 1989, Slow Food encourages communities to eat ethically and eat well. Too often, modern eating is a blur of fad diets and fast-food wrappers. Adherents of the Slow Food movement shop locally, respect food traditions and establish personal connections with farmers. Support Slow Food St. Louis by taking part in Convivial Pursuit, a tantalizing trivia night held at the Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street). From 7 to 10 p.m., show off your smarts, make new friends, and enter to win excellent raffle items. Your $20 ticket (which includes beer, wine and soda) must be purchased in advance; visit to order.
