The St. Louis neighborhood JeffVanderLou is bounded by Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Delmar Boulevard on the south, Natural Bridge Avenue on the north, North Jefferson Avenue on the east, and North Vandeventer Avenue on the west. And this nabe once housed Sportsman's Park and is now home to the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club. But none of this really says who
the neighborhood is. For that, you'll have to head over to the Public Policy Research Center Photography Project Gallery on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road) from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, for the opening of Point-of-View: JeffVanderLou
, a photography exhibit. For this show students from schools in and around JVL took pictures of their neighborhood that mimic photographs from last century; these pairs of images will be displayed along with stories about the district until Sunday, April 6. This same exhibit will also be on view in JVL at the Scott Joplin House State Historic Site (2658-A Delmar Boulevard) from Tuesday, January 29, through Saturday, March 15. Call 314-516-5273 or visit pprc.umsl.edu
for more about the exhibition, the opening receptions and for gallery hours.
