Brian Brooks doesn't just think in dance steps, styles and jumps. As the founder of the Brian Brooks Moving Company, which is based in New York City, he stages much larger, more innovative concepts, with dance functioning as the delivery medium. Take his work Motor as an example. The dancers in this piece work in concert, much like mechanical parts, but their movements suggest fluidity as well, along with absolutely stunning grace and athleticism. Watch in awe as the company presents this 40-minute work, along with I'm Going to Explode and Descent, at Washington University's Edison Theatre (6445 Forsyth Boulevard) at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday (January 20 and 21). Tickets for this can't-miss show cost $20 to $35 at 314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com.
