Dance performances are always a collaborative effort -- after all, no show features just one dancer -- and despite the fact that some individuals may stand out as being particularly talented, overall it's about the capability of the collective. When aTrek Dance Collective
presents Collective Dance in Concert
at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (March 4 and 5) at the Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City), you'll have the opportunity to watch as choreographers from all over the United States (including NYC's Germaul Barnes and Mathew Janczewski from Minneapolis) bring their works to one stage, for one purpose. Local talents, such as Summer Beasley and Geoffrey Alexander, also get in on the collaboration, making for two very rich evenings of dance. Tickets to the concerts cost $5 to $20; visit www.atrekdance.org
