Make Room for Tommy

Triple threat writer, actor and director Tommy Wiseau is a modern day Ed Wood. Entertainment Weekly dubbed his sordid melodrama The Room the "Citizen Kane of bad movies," while IFC described Wiseau's performance as "Borat trying to do an impression of Christopher Walken playing a mental patient." In late 2010, Tommy announced that The Room would be remastered in 3D, presumably using the video footage he shot beside the film footage as the starting point for a stereo conversion. A year and a half has passed, and fans are still waiting for the 3D version to come to light, but this Friday and Saturday, audiences will be treated to the man himself live in all three-dimensions alongside a 2D print of the film at the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City). Tickets for the special midnight showings are $15.00, so to make room in your schedule, visit www.landmarktheatres.com/market/st.louis/tivolitheatre.htm.
