Millie Dillmount is a sweet young Midwestern girl who's come to the big city with one goal: marry a rich man. Any rich man will do, and this being the Roaring Twenties, rich men abound — particularly the dashing Trevor Graydon, Millie's boss. The problem is she's drawn more to Jimmy, a gadabout paper-clip salesman who has plenty of fun but not many funds. But he seems to be canoodling with Millie's best friend, Dorothy, an aspiring actress. Further complicating matters is the landlady, Mrs. Meers, who plots to sell Dorothy into slavery. What's a flapper to do? Why, sing and dance and find true love, of course — Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical, after all. Stages St. Louis presents the fun and feisty show at the Robert G. Reim Theatre (111 South Geyer Road, Kirkwood; or 314-821-2407) at 4 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 31; the show continues daily (except Monday) through Sunday, June 29. Tickets are $46.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: May 30. Continues through June 29, 2008
