A few Christmases past, Ms. Day and Mr. Night strolled the avenues of the Hill, enjoying the many Nativity scenes decorating the windows of the neighborhoods businesses. We froze our respective tuchuses off, but we had a swell time searching out all the presepi (thats the proper Italian term), which range from traditional sets brought over from the old country to new scenes made by area kids. The Hill Nativity Walk is back this year through Saturday, January 6, so skip out of work early and take the self-guided tour before youre all Christmas-ed out. Maps of participating businesses are available at Girasole Gifts and Imports (2103 Marconi Avenue; 314-773-7700), the whole thing is free, and therere about 200 excellent places to stop and get food when you get hungry.
