MST3K Alumni Play with Dolls

Before TV schlockmeister Aaron Spelling cashed in with Charlie's Angels, B-movie director Ted V. Mikels assembled a bevy of beautiful jump-suited special agents -- "The Doll Squad" -- to take on an ex-CIA agent hell-bent on world domination. With the renegade agent holed up on a mysterious tropical island and plotting to unleash swarms of bubonic plague-infected rats, a government super-computer advises that a team of high-heeled, machine-gun toting, kung-fu fighting babes is earth's only hope for survival. Tonight Cinematic Titanic, the movie-riffing supergroup headed by Mystery Science Theater 3000 creator Joel Hodgson, collides with The Doll Squad in front of a live audience at the Family Arena (2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles; 636-896-4200 or www.familyarena.com). It's a perfect opportunity to hear the masters of film mockery work their voodoo once again, and see a film that's not a remake. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 to $50.
