With apologies to the Purple One, it might be more appropriate to rechristen this act Nick Jonas and the New Power Generation. After all, three-fourths of the tween star's band — drummer Michael Bland, guitarist Sonny Thompson and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella — played with Prince in the early '90s. (Bassist John Fields, who's also the JoBros' producer, is the other member.) The Administration's many funky talents, however, don't overpower the maturity of the youngest JoBro. As video from recent gigs demonstrates, his soulful falsetto and ace phrasing — not to mention his cherubic good looks — are not to be underestimated.
