Nightriders

This event has been postponed due to inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for September 15. Original post follows. There are few things more satisfying than a bike ride through city streets late on a gorgeous summer evening -- and the later, the better. Unfortunately, nighttime urban cycling isn't particularly safe, with decreased visibility and a greater percentage of drivers who are sleepy or, worse yet, imbibed. Ride safely with thousands of other cyclists of all ages and levels at tonight's Moonlight Ramble. Meet at Ballpark Village (Broadway and Poplar Street) between 9 and 11:45 p.m. for the leisurely midnight ride through streets closed to automobile traffic. The specific route is top secret, but will offer participants a choice between a short (ten and a half miles) or long (eighteen and a half miles) ride. Registration costs $10 to $40 (free for children ages four and under) with proceeds benefiting Cardinals Care. Refuel for the ride home with snacks and drinks at the after-ride party, and stay safe with the glow-in-the-dark commemorative event shirt.
