Red Hot and Rarin' to Go

Burlesque fans, you're in for it now. Lola van Ella has whipped up another Show-Me Burlesque Festival, and it is packed with talent that wants to show you its talents. More than 60 artists are scheduled to perform at four shows in three nights (Thursday through Saturday, May 15 through 17), and they're going twice on Friday night. First up is the Friday Night Spectacular at 7 p.m. at the Ivory Theatre (7620 Michigan Avenue), hosted by Lola van Ella and featuring Minneapolis' Foxy Tann (pictured), New York's Gin Minsky and Bazuka Joe out of Chicago, along with a dozen other burlesque stars and the Show Me Burlesque Orchestra. The Red Light District Revue follows at 10:30 p.m., again at the Ivory, with an entirely different show and cast. Mistress Victoria DeVille plays hostess for her friends Ruby Ruin, Jeeze Loueez and Roxi D'Lite, who bills herself as "the Drinkin', Strippin', Smokin' Machine." Tickets for each show are $20 to $30, but look into the weekend pass -- you could see all four shows for as little as $65. For more information and a complete schedule, visit
