(4356 Lindell Boulevard) just might be the most unique, greatest place on Earth. For starters, this restaurant is located in a converted funeral home über creepy-chic. Then, there's the wine list no one will leave here thirsty. But perhaps the most magical part of a visit to Savor is, well, the magic. Located on the second floor, the cabaret theater is decorated in opulent red drapes, and the seats and tables are tiered to provide magic enthusiasts the best possible view of the small stage area. The sleight-of-hand of funnyman Dennis Schoen, a.k.a. "The Amazing Schoen," a.k.a. one of Savor's proprietors, is simply amazing card tricks like you've never seen, an audience-participatory rope trick, and, on special rare occasions, marriage proposals and the obligatory Champagne toast. Cheers! Chris Korn and Eric Mead also have some tricks up their sleeves during their one-man performances.
The magic shows at Savor happen from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday evenings. Admission is $10, and reservations are recommended. Call the restaurant at 314-531-0220 to save your spot before it disappears!
