Science and Romance: When Worlds Collide

Aug 9, 2012 at 4:00 am
While science and romance might not seem like ideal partners, the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400) is out to change all of that with its Cheap Date Night this Saturday. For just $10 per person, young lovers (ages 21 and up), senior sweethearts and swinging, stag singles can soak in a romantic evening under the stars of the planetarium. Not only can couples take in the Sky Tonight Star Show, but because nothing sends lovers rushing into one another’s arms like the discovery of a massive star on a collision course with Earth, the center will present the 1951 Academy Award-winning sci-fi classic When Worlds Collide on the big dome. The dates begin at 7 and 10:30 p.m. To read more about how science and smooching don’t make such strange bedfellows, stop by www.slsc.org.
