Each year, it seems the Christmas season gets ratcheted up a notch in the categories of commercial craziness and frantic frazzled-ness. If the mall is making you manic and the thought of hearing "Dominick the Donkey" just once more makes you delirious, the Bach Society of Saint Louis' Christmas Candlelight Concert might be just what the doctor ordered. A candlelight procession, chorale music and internationally acclaimed soprano Christine Brewer elevate traditional Christmas classics to something beyond background music for harried shoppers. Take a timeout at the concert on Tuesday, December 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Powell Symphony Hall (718 North Grand Boulevard). Available tickets cost $20 to $65 and can be purchased via www.bachsociety.org or by calling 314-534-1700.
