For those not in the know, the Washington University Fashion Design Show is a pretty big deal. Now in its 84th year, this runway showcase of envelope-pushing, well-made student designs provides an opportunity for you to be wowed by 26 young talents after they've taken their concepts all of the way from the idea phase to finished garments. This year's show opens with kimonos by sophomores, continues with juniors’ tailored pieces, color-blocked dresses and more, and concludes with works by the seniors -- we're talking full collections based on themes (a mysterious French circus and origami are a couple of this year's inspirations). Evening wear will also be part of the show, but not just basic gowns, but rather the kinds of dresses that are two-looks-in-one, with an element of complete metamorphosis, just as these students transform into the next generation of taste-making designers.
