Small Game Hunting

It's summer in St. Louis, and the bugs are here to celebrate. Embrace them and get the kids away from the computer by going on a bug hunt. The Butterfly House in Faust Park (15193 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield; 636-530-0076 or www.butterflyhouse.org) invites you to go out into the park with an entomologist and capture, identify and then release bugs like an expert. Kids can also play insect-themed games and work on crafts while adults can pick up tips on gardening for butterflies and building bee houses. The Very Hungry Caterpillar of storybook fame will be paying a special visit. The bug hunt runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (July 19 and 20). Admission is $10 to $12.
Sat., July 19, 6:30-9 p.m.; Sun., July 20, 6:30-9 p.m., 2014
