Live entertainment seems to be suffering these days, what with our glowing screens full of up-to-the-minute nonsense. Lest your children think the only entertainment out there is reality TV (shudder), waste no time and get them to a concert, a ball game and Stages St. Louis' production of Disney's The AristoCats. This old-school Disney story teaches lessons about class and the treatment of animals through catchy, jazzy songs and a good-triumphs-over-all story line. Sing along with "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat" and other tunes at 11 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday (August 4 through 15) at the Robert G. Reim Theatre at the Kirkwood Community Center (111 South Geyer Road). Tickets to the show cost $17; call 314-821-2407 or visit www.stagesstlouis.org to make a purchase. Children must be five years old or older to attend.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 4. Continues through Aug. 15, 2010
