The second-annual Super Happy Funtime Alleycat Race took place on September 21, 2008. The race started and finished at Tilles Park off of Hampton Avenue in St. Louis.

Registration was free, but since this year's race included a scavenger hunt, it was suggested each biker bring about $8 along with them. Each racer also received a spoke card with their individual number they affixed to their bike.

A map was given to each participant with the five check points. At each stop, a specific item had to be purchased. The order of the stops was at the discretion of the biker.

The only rules and regulations of the race were that each of the stops had to be visited and there had to be receipts for all scavenger hunt purchases.

Early in the race it was easy to tell that some decided to stay in groups and others preferred to ride solo.

A first stop for some, Family Dollar, where black or white spray paint was to be purchased. Family Dollar was one of the three dollar stores on the checkpoint map.

Dollar General was the second stop, where the item was Snack Pack Pudding (chocolate or vanilla.)

Most of the stops on the map were all fairly close to one another -- making for a tight race in the beginning.

Arena Liquors was next where a tall can of beer (brand of your choice) was the object of desire.

A quick break to map the rest of the journey.

Walgreens was next.

Halloween style goblets! This was the second to last stop for this group of racers.

The last stop for many, and the farthest from the rest of the checkpoints was a Deal$, where you had to buy a bag of ring pops. This guy is already on his way to the finish!

Turns out, however, they were first and second-place winners (Mike and Seth cheated.) It wasn’t officially against the rules though. They split the purchases allowing their total bike time to be cut in half. First-place won 33 four-packs of pudding and second place won 33 cans of spray paint.

The third place winner Lee (with the actual best time 48:55) won 33 goblets.
