The world was supposed to end in 2012. Why and when depended on who you talked to: the election (or re-election) of certain candidates on November 6, an ancient Mayan prophecy that declared the end of days would occur on December 21, accumulated sin and global warming, which could finish us off at any moment.

But, amazingly and gloriously, we're all still here! So what better way to celebrate than testing your recall of the past year's news, the wacky, the whimsical and just plain weird (see anything that involved Todd Akin), and put off getting started on all the exciting projects you had planned for 2013?

Note: Unless specified, all events referenced in this quiz took place between January 1 and December 31, 2012.

OFFICIAL RULES: There are no rules. Except one: You'll have to arrange to come to the RFT office in person to claim your prize. Um, make that two: Only one entry per household. Oh, and you have to supply a real name and Email address where we can reach you in the unlikely event that you win. If there's a tie, we'll come up with something. And, you know, void where prohibited and all that.

So answer the following questions to the best of your ability.

We'll publish the results in a week or so. And now, without further ado, let the quiz-taking, begin!
