This City Is U. City

University City has compiled and organized more than 100 fun things to do during the 2006 U. City Centennial Celebration, but don't worry if you've fallen behind, because today's Founder's Day Weekend activities should pack in enough excitement to make you feel caught up. At noon the Centennial Parade kicks up along Delmar Boulevard and ends at City Hall (6801 Delmar Boulevard), where the EG Lewis commemorative marker dedication happens at 1 p.m. (Lewis is U. City's founder and first mayor). The action there continues with the groundbreaking for U. City in Bloom's new Heirloom Gardens, and the fire department behind City Hall hosts an open house — even the St. Louis Rams cheerleaders will be at this event, which ends at 3 p.m. For more information about these free happenings and the other fun activities this year, check out www.ucity100years.org.
