This Event Is an Illusion

(The dancing is real, though)

For an old form of entertainment, magic shows sure still impress. There's just something about not believing what you see — but seeing it nonetheless. Of course, the illusions themselves are just one part of the show; the magician obviously plays a big role in the performance. His or her ability to ham it up and really captivate the audience is vastly important to a successful magical presentation. St. Louisan Keith Jozsef is the best kind of magician: He's certainly capable, and he's definitely a charmer. To catch one of his cool shows — and to be amazed — head to the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.contemporarystl.org) this evening. Jozsef will perform illusions, and DJ 7 from London Calling DJ provides the soundtrack for the affair. The museum doors open at 6:30 p.m.; admission is free (seriously!), and there will be an open wine bar.
