The New Theatre continues its season-long exploration of women's working lives with Wendy MacLeod's The Water Children, which opens at the New City School this Thursday and runs through April 25. MacLeod is playwright-in-residence at Kenyon College and is also the author of the play The House of Yes, which was made into a film starring Parker Posey. In The Water Children, an actress pushing 40 is no longer getting the roles she got when she was younger. A break comes with a part in a commercial, but she abhors the company's politics. Directed by Agnes Wilcox, the cast is led by Debbie Dawson and John Pierson (pictured), along with Stellie Siteman, Tijuana Riks, John Krewson and Ted Cancilla. Call 531-8330 for tickets.
