Tiny Train, Big Fun

Just chugging along

Short people have a tough time of it. They can't reach the top kitchen cabinets, they have to have every pair of pants hemmed, and they must sit ridiculously close to the steering wheel in order to touch the gas pedal. Just once, it would be nice for them to feel like they're the perfect size for something instead of being just a bit too small. And where better to get that feeling than aboard a tiny train? When the shorties experience the wind in their hair and watch the trees and the Meramec River whiz by (all while enjoying plenty of legroom), they'll be thrilled that they decided to board the Wabash, Frisco & Pacific Railroad. And that they only paid $3 to do so! What a deal! If you are petite in stature — or if you just like the idea of a wee, open-air train (and who doesn't?) — head out to the WF&P station (Grand Avenue and Second Street, Wildwood) any Sunday through the end of October. Trains depart every twenty minutes from 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; learn more by calling 636-587-3538 or visiting www.wfprr.com.
Sundays. Starts: Aug. 3. Continues through Oct. 26, 2008
