Tonight We Ride

You have to admire city bicyclists. You know the kind: always dodging traffic on our town's motorways with grace and agility, making such road-riding look easy. Well, it isn't easy. It takes practice and loads of care to safely bike alongside motorized vehicles. That why we love the Moonlight Ramble, the yearly ride through St. Louis' city streets, which are closed to all non-bicycle traffic. Plus, it's an ideal way to see the city at night while doing a little cardio along the way. Riders have the option of taking either a seven- or fourteen-mile route, but remember, it's a ramble, not a race, so keep your competitive streak in check and just enjoy the ride. The Ramble begins at midnight, and registration begins — with the traditional festivities and entertainment — at 9 p.m. at Soldiers Memorial (Fourteenth and Chestnut streets). The entrance fee is $30 for adults and $10 for children; tickets can be purchased at www.moonlightramble.org or on the night of the ride. For more information, visit the website or call 314-644-4660.
